Gymnasium School Floors

We specialize in refinishing gymnasium school floors.

Gymnasium school floors need to be refinished every 8 to 10 years. This involves sanding the gym floor down to the bare wood and applying seal, paint, and finish, which all restore the luster of the older wood floor surface.

At the same time, re-branding a gym floor’s image with new logos and striping will make everything look new.

Refinish

A complete refinish involves sanding all of the game lines and finishing off the floor down to the raw wood. Additionally, any damaged boards or subfloor can be repaired or replaced.

Sanding

The floor will be refinished with a sanding machine, with a minimum of three cuts using coarse, medium, and fine sandpapers. All sanding dust and grit will be removed before applying the seal and finish.

Seal Coats

Once the floor is appropriately sanded, two coats of MFMA-approved seal will be applied, and the floor should be screened between each coat. The floor is ready to be painted or stained.

Finished

Ensuring your gym floor is appropriately finished correctly is the key to a beautiful floor.
